Texans for Excellence in Education Welcomes
Denise Rives to the Board of Directors

Fort Worth, TX – Texans for Excellence in Education (TEE) is excited to announce that Denise Rives will be joining its Board of Directors. Denise will bring over four decades of experience in education to the board.

After earning a Bachelor of Education in Elementary Education and Teaching at Texas Tech University, Denise received a Master of Arts in Early Childhood Education and Teaching from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin. She furthered her education through Texas Tech University’s Doctoral Program in Educational Leadership.

Denise began her career in Ector County ISD, where she was a teacher and counselor for 17 years before becoming a campus administrator. She then spent over 15 years serving as a Regional Testing Coordinator of Principal and Superintendent Certification Program for the Region 18 Education Service Center.

In the years following, she went on to work as a Charter School Field Service Agent and a Consultant for the Education Service Center. She also helped to start the Texas Leadership Charter Academy in Midland, where she worked as an administrator.

Denise has been an elected school board trustee and volunteered on non-profit organizations’ boards. More recently, she served as a District Representative for Senator Dawn Buckingham before the latter was elected Texas Land Commissioner.

“Denise will make an excellent addition to our board,” said John Petree, President of Texans for Excellence in Education. “Her years of experience as a teacher, counselor, principal, charter school operator, and board member will be invaluable as we strive to improve the quality of education alongside our member school boards.”
